So you think you're good at your home laser tag
system? How do you think you'll handle playing a system you've never
seen before? In Armageddon five teams battle it out on six different
systems over three days. Its a battle of adaptability, teamwork and
pure laser tag skill.
So what is included in the event? The event price includes two nights in a hotel, coach travel between all the sites, all the tournament games and medals/awards for the winners. How much is this going to cost? The price per player is £160, of which £60 is payable as a deposit to secure the position at the event, the balance is due by the start of the event. Deposits must be in by 27th June 2006, however is recommended you secure your place earlier to avoid disappointment. Please note that refunds are not permitted, however secured places may be given to other players. The event starts at 9:30am Friday 11th August at LaserQuest Stourbridge, where the coach will be waiting to collect people and take them to the first site we'll be playing - Quasar Elite at Acocks Green. This is to allow those driving to park their cars at Stourbridge so they can get away quickly on the Sunday night. For those who do not require this service the start time is 10:30am at Quasar Elite, Acocks Green, Birmingham. The event will finish at 10pm Sunday 13th August at LaserQuest Stourbridge. Every team will play all the other teams at each system, where a team wins they are awared two tournament points, the losing team receives none. If there is a draw both teams receive one tournament point each. The team with the most tournament points after the last system has been played is the winner. In the event of two teams having identical tournament points their record against each other decides the winner. Those aged under 16 must be accompanied by someone aged 18 or over who accepts parental responsibility for them. The event organisers cannot accept responsibility for minors. Rules and formats will be discussed and posted up nearer to the event. To sign up to the event you must provide your name, an alias for use on some systems, a team name (if you are applying as part of a team), contact details and date of birthday for those under 18. Deposits and balances can be paid by the following methods:
Michael Turner Please note this is a temporary site and we hope to polish it up over the next few weeks. Questions and Answers Q. Why is the event cost so high? A. Unlike most tournaments the event includes hotel, transport and actual lasertag cost, so although the upfront cost appears high it is still good value for money. Q. Why does the event include hotel and a coach? A. Due to the logistics of moving 40 people between so many sites, the chance of someone getting lost or arriving late between venues is too great if cars are used, and missing people could ruin an event such as this. This ensures everyone arrives together and also means those with cars can go enjoy a drink or 10 without worry! Q. What isn't included in the event fee? A. Food and drink, and hotels for Thursday 10th August and Sunday 13th August. Anyone wishing to stay on those nights near the first venue should make their own arrangements. Q. What sort of rooms do we get at the hotel? A. On Friday 11th August the hotel is room only, twin, ensuite. On Saturday 12th August the hotel is room only, tripple, ensuite. Please note some tripple rooms will be sofa-beds. For those requiring a double, single or twin please notfiy the organiser as quickly as possible, any additional cost will be spread amongst those with special requests. Q. Can I choose who I share a room with? A. Yes, however please let me know the names of those you wish to share with as quickly as possible, otherwise the rooms will be allocated at random. |
